Picture + 100 Words: An Unexpected Shadow
The Vatican Museum is home to Raphael. Carvaggio. Titian. Bellini. You wander through mazes of masterpieces often hustling past world-renowned sculptures and art just to get to the end – to the Sistine Chapel.
You are herded along hallways with signs promising that the chapel is finally here, but you turn a corner and realize you’re still not there.
Interestingly, modern art fills the last set of rooms. Seems strange after ruminating on Raphael, but it lured me in and got me off the Sistine path. I suggest pausing here, because the shadow on this piece is its own masterpiece.
