Picture + 100 Words: Tourists Gonna Tour
We arrived in Athens the day the banks closed and many of the ATMs in Athens ran dry. Despite the panic of not having cash and being in a country about to default on billion euro loans, tourists were still touring. And I was one of them. The only issue we had at the Acropolis, shown here packed with tourists, was they wouldn’t take our credit card. We handed over precious euros and climbed up to a sun-soaked display of Greece’s 5,000+ years of history, which gave the impression that a country this old can surely overcome another crisis.
